Kids Holiday Surf Camp

Cape Town

For LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS or if you're hoping to join up with a GROUP for a lesson or 4-lesson package, please WhatsApp 0824128781 to check availability.

Activity Description

These holiday camps are a great option for your kids (if they are aged 9-13 years) to spend their holidays outdoors in the sea and the sun, learning to surf or improve their surfing. We offer you complete convenience as we collect your kids (from collection points in Camps Bay, City and Newlands), transfer them to the beach for their surf lesson and then return them back. Each surf lesson is 1.5 hours long and includes all the equipment (they are welcome to bring their own if preferred). The full experience is around 3.5-4 hours including the transfers between the beach and collection/drop-off points (depending on traffic). We have a strict COVID-19 safety plan in place to ensure the safety of your child and staff.

Arrangements

Duration4 hours
WhenOn the specified* date ranges listed.
WhereCOLLECTION: We will collect from the agreed collection point in our vehicle which is branded with the number plate 'STOKED-WP' OR 'SURFIN-WP': 08h00: Camps Bay High School parking; 08h15: Engen Gardens ; 08h40: Newlands BP Service Station DROP-OFFS: Drop-offs usually take place between 11:30-12:30pm depending on traffic and also congestion at the beach parking lot. The coach will send their live location once they depart the beach so you can track their arrival time. We will create a WhatsApp group for this purpose. PLEASE BE ON TIME TO COLLECT YOUR CHILD. For logistical and security reasons we do not want to be parked and waiting at any time. If for any reason the drop-off point for your child should be different from the collection point, please advise us the day prior by sending a Whatsapp to us.
WeatherWe surf in rain and moderate wind. We will only cancel if the swell is ginormous or the wind is gale force.
What to WearPlease come wearing what you will wear under your wetsuit (we suggest something fitting like a swimsuit/Speedo/underwear). During this time using shared restroom facilities is not encouraged and therefore in order to change into our wetsuits outdoors comfortably, it is easier to have these fitted garments on before you get to the beach. If you have a hooded changing towel, please bring that as it does make the process a lot easier. Please also remember to arrive wearing your facemask.
Things to BringPlease bring a towel and bag to transport wet gear home, waterproof sunscreen, warm sweater/light jacket for afterwards in case of chilly wind, underwear (you'll be surprised how many people forget this as they arrive in their bathing suits!) and dry clothing for the return journey. PLEASE SEND SNACKS AND A DRINK for after the lesson. Whilst we do not allow eating or drinking on the bus, there is the opportunity for a quick snack whilst they are changing and we are packing up. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY CASH with your child to the beach. We do not allow minors to go to stores unattended. Coaches do not have the time to accompany them as they have gear to pack up after the lesson and need to remain with the group at all times. We will not waiver from this policy.
Guests or SpectatorsSpectators will have to meet us at the beach as only the surfing participants can ride in the bus with us.
